The Canterbury Method
Here's how you can learn English in a fun, easy and quick way.

Begin with the Basics
Sentence Construction & Grammar basics are put in place first. So is vocabulary. Depending on the student's English proficiency, the language consultant has to align these three aspects --- sentence construction, grammar and vocabulary ---- to the right proficiency level per learning stage in the curriculum, otherwise the disparity will deter the student's progress, causing confusion and slowing down his learning process.
Stylistic Device and Context of Use
The subjective and more variable aspect of language use in terms of stylistic device and proper context of use requires a certain language proficiency level and certain number of hours of actual language usage. But if there is none, then the customized curriculum will adjust to that and create it for the student. Special tutors will be engaged for this, experiential tutors who will take the student to various scenarios, exercises and activities meant to contextualize language use. The learning milestones for these will vary depending on many factors, like the learning goals, the

student's progress and other things like his hobbies. What is noteworthy about this learning stage is that this portion of the curriculum will be based and designed around the student's interests to make the customized curriculum fun and enjoyable for the student. For example, if the student loves art, the exercises will be situated in an art gallery or museum using a guided activity list. That is the reason why the customized curriculum will be effective, the student will enjoy the learning process, turning it into play rather than boring work that requires effort.

The Canterbury Method, Step - by - Step
Step #1 - Individual Assessment
The student will have a one on one assessment with the Language Consultant. This has a $16 assessment fee but it is fully deductible from the Curriculum Design Fee. in this assessment, the Language Consultant will assess the student's base level English skills through verbal discussions, grammar tests and independent composition. It also includes a personality test and a quiz to determine his hobbies and interests.
Step #2 - Customized Curriculum Design
The Language Consultant will design a customized curriculum based on the student's base English language proficiency, learning style and learning goals. The Consultant will also consider the student's interests and personality to create a learning plan that the student will enjoy doing.
Step #3 - Curriculum & Timetable Management
The student will receive the customized curriculum and evaluate his budget if he wants to trim or extend, stretch or stagger the sessions. Together the Language Consultant and the student will create a timetable for the learning plan.
Step #4 - Formation of a Team of Tutors
Since the Language Consultant's customized curriculum requires more than one skill set, a team will be assembled. Lecturers will be chosen based on their language expertise while experiential tutors responsible for teaching stylistic devices and contextual use are chosen based on their social skills and personality in addition to their knowledge of English grammar. Both will be briefed on the customized curriculum and materials will be prepared under the Language Consultant's management.
